As an all-rounder Geert De Decker cultivated for over 35 years a wide variety of knowledges and skills. 35 Years of constantly learning as a way to improve his personal development within his worldwide artistic and business projects.
Until it was time to write a new story after a long sad period. A radical new beginning in search for the higher dimension behind the visible reality.
1969 – 2020
It all took a start in the eighties when he encountered the mail art network. In a blink of an eye he was sending out pieces of art to all corners of the world.
Art collection & festival
In return, work from other artists came in through his mailbox, as such he was building up a small art collection. Very soon came the need to organise an exhibition with these art pieces. A first small exhibition became a small festival and developed over a period of 3 decades into a famous international arts festival. Meanwhile his very own work found its way to publications, collections and exhibitions worldwide, while the art collection kept growing.
Web pioneer & marketing
His artistic activities didn’t remain unnoticed. That is why he received the invitation to participate in one of the very first websites in Belgium. Which forced him to learn how to make websites and online technology.
As online technology developed through time, as well his knowledge in web technology and online marketing kept growing. That gave him the idea to develop out of his wide variety of knowledge, a Step by Step Business Marketing Guide to refine the details. Shattered dreams
When he developed this business marketing guide, he was living in Spain. What he experienced as the best period of his life turned into a disaster. Due to economic reasons he was forced to return to Belgium. Not before he first donated his extensive art collection to the National Museum of Spain Reina Sofia.
Back in Belgium he was, completely broke, disillusioned and with many chattered dreams. None the less, for some unexplainable reason this became a life changer for him. With lots of regained energy and confidence for new dreams, he picked up the pieces. As such, the complete Business Marketing Guide was passed on to a marketing company to make way for something new and exciting.
And then came Covid-19. Wherein he lost both of his parents in a way you never wish. Leaving him behind with an enormous sadness and guilt. A black dog lurking around the corner to struck him down day by day without mercy.
2020 – 2069
Lucky enough, as an educated person he knew it was time to get out of the gutter again and make room for a completely new story. A radical new beginning, in search for the higher dimension hidden behind the visible reality. By means of creating valuable experiences on every level of the human needs.
An intention inspired by the Wabi Sabi philosophy he experienced while visiting the Zen temples of Kyoto. Most important of all, this new story is a journey not a destination.
True beauty could be discovered only by one who mentally complete the incomplete.
