As an all-rounder, Geert De Decker has spent over 35 years cultivating a wide range of knowledge and skills. His passion for constant learning has driven his personal development across artistic and business ventures around the world.

1969 – 2020

It all began in the 1980s, when Geert discovered the international mail art network. Almost instantly, he was sending out pieces of art to all corners of the globe.

Art collection & festival

In return, artworks from fellow creators arrived through his mailbox, forming the beginnings of a unique art collection. The desire to share these works led to his first exhibition — modest at first, but it soon grew into a small festival. Over the span of three decades, that festival evolved into a renowned international arts event.

Meanwhile, Geert’s own creations found their way into global publications, collections, and exhibitions, even as his collection continued to expand.

Web pioneer & marketing

His artistic ventures did not go unnoticed. Geert was invited to contribute to one of the first websites in Belgium, which sparked his interest in web design and online technologies.

As the internet matured, so did his expertise in web development and digital marketing. Drawing on his broad knowledge base, he created the Step-by-Step Business Marketing Guide — a framework that continues to help him align strategic thinking with both artistic and entrepreneurial projects.

Spain

After years of dedication, Geert moved to Spain — a time he considers one of the most fulfilling in his life. Before returning to Belgium due to economic circumstances, he donated his extensive art collection to the Reina Sofía National Museum.

Back in Belgium, life took an unexpected turn. The uncertainty of a new chapter was compounded by the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and the profound personal loss of both parents. Grief cast a long shadow, and moments of deep sorrow followed.

Yet, as an educated and reflective individual, Geert recognized the call to reinvent himself — to make space for a completely new story. Inspired by Zen philosophy and the stillness he experienced during visits to the temples of Kyoto, he embarked on a radical new beginning.

This time, the goal is not to rebuild what was lost — but to create something entirely new. A journey, not a destination.

True beauty could be discovered only by one who mentally complete the incomplete.
